integration cubase ans synfire pro problem

Posted

Hi all people. I have a question about daw integration. When I use drone in Cubase, I couldn't achieve firstly begin cubase transport. I have to begin firstly Synfire transport. Afterthat Cubase transport has to begin. In other ways When I start cubase transport firstly There is no sound in drone. İs it normal.

Thanks a lot.

Synfire always starts playback, because it needs to run a little ahead of time, so it can feed the MIDI stream to the DAW before it is actually due for playback.

If the DAW would start first, Synfire could never catch up, because both transports are running exactly at the same tempo. When Synfire starts first, it can wait for the DAW to start and adjust its playhead to match that of the DAW.

Thanks a lot for quick answering. You said that synfire wait for Daw to start. Can you explain how I adjust this parameter or what is trick to use this function. Because This is not autamatic function I think. Thanks a lot again.

Well, Synfire tells the DAW to start first and then waits a little until it starts itself. This ensures both programs run in synch.

It does not work the other way round, because the DAW doesn't know about Synfire (it would start running immediately) and Synfire would be late and unable to catch up.

why not use midi remote commands to control synfire transport? no need to put synfire app into foreground.

Open Audio & MIDI Setup window from Playback menu or the button with the toolbox icon.

On Settings tab, you'll find the remote commands. Use and MIDI keyboard or controller to assign transport functions to MIDI CC (Learn button works best). This way you can control the Synfire transport from your hardware without switching from DAW to Synfire and back.
