Identifying live chords

Posted

I do have a lot of chords under the triggerpads in Halion 5

To be able to get those chords into synfire i do need to know what chords they are

In the pallete menu you can see the chords played on the keyboard

I like to see a feature that i can hold in Synfire the keys of the keyboard there : one by one adding a key to build up the desired chord... then i can read the chordsymbol and know the type of the chord.

Note: in other programs they call this the latch mode ?

Thanks,

Not all triggerpads are labeled with a name, its for those chords that have no chord names on the triggerpads
It should be handy to  press a key on the the keyboard in Synfire and that keys are held pressed.
Can do this by mouse then !..no need to try to get the big chord by two hands on the midi keyboard

I am using the smallest controller keyboard where some of the chords not fitting and mostly 5 note chords (or more?) ,with 2 doublings or other chords ones in Halion5
Transposing all the time and trying to get the chords by hand reading from Halion and hoping to press the right keys at the same time in Synfire.

Reading the chords in Halion 5  and clicking them with the mouse on the keyboard in Synfire  -one by one - where Synfire can identify them
and keep the notes pressed on the keyboard till the chord is recognised..seems to me a much easier workflow for me to do without faults, then with the midi controller keyboard what is difficult to handle or impossible for some chords too.

There is no mouse-driven keyboard widget for that yet. Sounds like a good idea.

For all chords with root note C, you can could also use the Catalog to identify them: Create or clone a new interval structure and check individual intervals in the editor. Equivalent or similar chords show up in the list below.

For the 12 string acousic guitar under trigger pad 1: e1-a1-d2-g2-b2-e3 .... what chord is this ? .. now i must press by hand   e1-a1-d2-g2-b2 on the keyboard in Synfire to see what chord this is..easier by clicking mouse Image removed.

I get the chord : G6(add9) with a rootnote doubled for 2 octaves

When make now a progession in Synfire a fill in this chord symbool and add a extra double rootnote ..i do have now the triggerpad chord 1 in Halion5 for the 12 string acoustic guitar
What chord under triggerpad 2 ?

Luckily there are also pads with chordsname written on it for the 12 string strumming , but all 6 note chords as it seems.. to make a library out  this to start with.
