Ableton Live and Synfire Pro for dummies anyone ?

Hello,

I made a few weeks ago an Ableton Live instruments setup (please find the image attached) and everything seemed to work fine with Synfire, until now, I had a few drone tracks in Live synchronized with SF. I used to launch first Live then SF, but after one or two updates I had this message (please see below) asking to start the original host DAW1 Live (which I did), if I click on "yes" it keeps popping up and if I choose "no" I have the internal Node3 engine activated.

So I tried to build a new instruments setup from scratch in live, when I drag & drop the cognitone drone in order to create a track, even if it appears "online" in Live I don't see it in SF host port folders.

Before making a new setup, I am not really sure which one should be lauched first (Live or Synfire ?) and where should I activate the asio driver too.

Thank you.

Bruno.

To save time and effort in case your DAW does not link to Synfire on startup, you can let Synfire restore your drones to an Engine and after the arrangement is open, relocate each port back to a drone (may need to switch them back to "reserved" status manually in the port list before you start relocating).

The "Relocate" command is part of the port's options menu in instrument inspector.

That will retain all your plugins and saved presets.

Always launch the DAW first.

Have the DAW use the ASIO driver and point the engine to something harmless, like DirectSound.
