very cool, very useful

I'm sure its old news to the rest here, but today was the first day I really had the chance to actually experiment with HN. First conclusion, I do need to spend a lot of time reading the docs , going thru the examples. Second conclusion, without reading much at all it became obvious how HN was immediately useful. I setup a pallete in the key of a composition I'm currently working on , clicking on the various chords gave me a sense sonically of what certain transitions would sound like but I had a decent handle on that already from a theory perspective, however, the circle of fifths tool is great. This is something I got exposed to in music theory at school but to have a tool that allowed me to jump to a neighboring key and then make my new transitions in that "new world" , all at the reach of my fingertips is fantastic, a huge productivity boost.

Anyhow , so as not to bore you all. I'll ask a real question. What I would really like to do at this juncture is two things and perhaps these should be seperate threads:

1. I would like to somehow specify by some sort of non-real time step input process a progression that I already had previously devised for my current composition in order that I can use HN to contemplate how to bridge out to new musical territories.

2. Not sure if possible but I would like to provide HN with my current melody line and have it generate a progression in a key that I specify.

I will be taking the time to read the docs but if could get some assistance with the above for now I would appreciate it.

thanks

okay, it seems I figured out how to specify the progression already. It was right under my nose :), pretty intuitive so far I must say.

Now, I need to discover how to make HN harmonize my melody and then I should be well on my way to leveraging HN to help me finish this composition.

thanks
