I'm not sure what to do. I really like the concept of HN, but for some reason I can't get it to output any sound to my Novation Xstation. What's curious is that HN responds to the midi from the Xstation, and I can get other apps to send audio output, but HN is silent.
I've tried all the usual things, upating my audio drivers, ensuring the signal isn't muted in the mixer, etc. In the External Setup Midi and Sounds window, the Xstation is listed in input and output and I can select them, but when I select the Apply and Save button and exit and come back to that window, the Xstation isn't selected.
I really would like to purchase this, but I can't even demo it at this point.
Any ideas?

Do you get any sound when using the Microsoft GS Synth (built into Windows)?
I assume the XStation is connected via an own MIDI USB driver. Route that port 1 to both "input from" and "output to".
Then create a new device (in the "External Devices" tab), name it "XStation", add a new soundbank (simply do "Bank >> Initialize General Midi") and there you are.
HN needs to know about your external equipment in order to control it. That's because it needs to know each individual sound and what it can actually play.
Hope that helps.
Yep, that did it. Thanks! Onward to demoing ...
