A Blues-ish Brahms (test)

Author RobertoD

I'm doing some tests to find a viable way of assembling a library which could work in different harmonic contexts. The attached brahms_op4.coglib proved to be a good candidate.

The op.4 Scherzo by Johannes Brahms is a quite long work. I extracted from its midifile a bunch of short takes in order to start with something. Then I stretched and moved them around on some Blues chords. Oddly enough, it worked :-)

This is a 100% classical progression derived from two 1-bar-chunks of Brahms' Scherzo. Attached to this post the previous library with two new figures added. Will post the definitive library as soon as it will be complete.

Note that the chordal green figures from bar 3 to bar 8 are almost identical (same pitches), but the different harmonies change drastically their interpretation.
