Hello! New user but hasn't got synfire yet...

Posted

Hello!

I live in Poland and since 2000y I make electronic music for my pleasure.

I use just medium fast PC and Cubase 7, Reason 7 and Renoise.

Now I think about purchasing Synfire Pro. So I start to save money :)

I think it is great software but as far as I know Cubase 8 pro is going into similar direction too. anyway I have decided to invest in Cognitone's product.

If You are curious of my music I have Jamendo profile:

https://www.jamendo.com/pl/artist/366921/equalypse

Also I'm thinking about creating an project in sellaband.com but have no idea if it is good move.

What do You think?

One more question: Will Synfire work with Reason in Rewire mode?

Thanks and have a nice day!

Dominik

Hi Dominik,

Welcome to the user forum!

Thanks for sharing your music with us. I like the atmosphere and soft trance appeal. Beta 01 makes for a nice film theme. Well done.

Cubase and Synfire have much less in common than some of Cubase's new tools may suggest. Cubase is a DAW and the Chord Track feature is for modifying existing MIDI you've already recorded. Synfire is for creating that new original MIDI from scratch. Also, with Synfire you can collect and combine loads of raw material again and again with simple drag & drop. If composing is what you want, rather than production, Synfire is your tool.

Synfire does not directly sync with Reason, unfortunately, because Reason can not load VSTi. However, Synfire synchronizes fine with Cubase, Studio One and many other DAWs.

I can't say much about sellaband. If you aim at selling your tracks, have a look at audiojungle. It's part of the envato market network and quite a few creative people make a lot of money there already.
