HN2 Edit current accompaniment (bug?)

Posted

When I edit a current accompaniment the changes aren't audible when I press ok. It only works when I save the accompaniment and restart the program and choose the edited accompaniment.

When I have a pattern or song and choose an accompaniment. If I edit that accompaniment and then go back to my pattern/song then the old accompaniment is still used. If I start a new song or pattern then the new one is used. I find this strange, because when I'm working on a song with my own accompaniments I'd like to hear the changes when I change things.

Just my few cents ;-)

Assigning a basis accompaniment to a song means its phrases are copied. You would need to edit the phrases in the song, or reassign the accompaniment again.

If the patterns were not copied to the song, opening the song at a later time or at another studio would lead to unpredictable results. A song is supposed to be a self-contained arrangement that always renders the same music when played back.

That I understand, but it's not the issue. Suppose I have an accompaniment I use in a song. When I add another instrument to it and save it (under another name), then the new accompaniment isn't copied to the current song. The new accompaniment isn't also in the basis accompaniment list when I saved it there. The work around I have now is the following. I save the song and the new accompaniment.

Then I close HN2 (the accompaniments are reloaded and the new one is in the list). Then I open the song again and assign the new accompaniment to it. Or I open a new song window and copy the song to it and then assign the new accompaniment to it (in the new window is the new acc. visible).

Another solution could be if there was a menu item or something who activates a procedure who reloads all the assigments again, including the new one (asuming that the new accompaniment is properly saved in the correct directory).
