Kontak 4 Global instruments

Posted

Hello Cognitos

Can someone shed some light on the following:

I just created a rack with global instruments using Kontak 4 plug ins. Everything works except the metronome.

I am able to record, but I cannot hear myself played and there is no metronome sound. How can I fix this?

Here I am sending a screen shot.

In Unity,

Eduardo

Hello there Cognitos,

Is it possible to create multiple racks for global instruments using plug ins? Let's say one rack according to song's style?

Hi Eduardo,

your global instruments look fine. You may need to set the "click" notes for the metronome only. Check the "Settings" tab where you can set them.

Yes, you can create a rack for every song style. Note however that your are not limited to the "global instruments" for your songs. You can add a lot more instruments to the shared rack and use all their sounds for many songs. I am using a shared rack with 12 plug-ins.

Supertonic. Thanks for being  Super!

I am sure I can fix that minor hipcup now.

Regarding Kontak drums: In the midi track in Synfire I can hear all the drums in the track; with Kontak only certain drum sounds are heard...the same with the bass. Any insights into this Supertonic?

Thank you again for being an outstanding resource. :admire:

Supertonic

How can I have all drums sounds from Kontak play? If I have three drums sounds in synfire, I only hear two in Kontak drums. If I set the drums to omni channel in kontak then I heard them played back with other instruments when triggered by synfire. How can I get around this?

Thanks again

Best Regards

Hi
Omni means receives all 16 midi channels thats why you hearing every global instruments from drum patch
it must have specific channel
for example if you want to use one kontakt instance for your entire global rack
use midi  ch1 for Generic (Piano)
ch2 for Chords
3 for Bass 4 for guitar and for the drum and metronome IMHO best is use different channels
10 for drum 9 for Metronome

Thanks Soundcase,

I will try again. When drums are set to single channel in Kontak, they do not play all the drums sounds in the midi track in synfire . Same thing with the bass. I am going to set it up as you just explained, and I will see what happens.

Very grateful for your assistance though.
