Here are six lectures Leonard Berstein gave at Harvard University in 1973.  They are YouTube videos.. Quality is very good.

 

They are long, but there is a wealth of information, drawing on many aspects of music, outside of the normal 'notes vs rhythm'  In the first lecture, he postulates that there is a human 'internal language' that all humans have.. Because of our physical build (lungs, vocal chords, mouthy cavity, nose resonantence etc). Music (human vocalization of sound) was the first language.
