[Closed] Chord with an open voicing can result in shorter "ghost notes"?

Posted

EDIT: The reported "issue" was caused by my buggy figure (with overlapping symbols). Apologies for the noise.

It seems that a chord with an open voicing can result in shorter "ghost notes".

The attached project and screenshot contain only a single chord with four notes. In the output, however, you can see five notes. Note that the highest note is shorter than the actual chord notes.

This chord figure is not set to be a complete chord, so there really should oly be four notes in the result.

Note also that these notes are also part of the MIDI export.

In my actual piece where this figure occurs, the situation is a bit different (see 2nd screenshot). It seems at first there that this four-note chord results in three normal notes and the additional fourth and highest note is again the shorter "ghost note". However, what actually happens here is that two of the regular exportet chord notes *are identical* in pitch. I feel that identical simultaneous chord pitches are as undesirable as superfluous notes.

Again, all these problems only happen when this chord is set to use an open voicing.

Thanks!
