Drones: loading to Drone in SF vs. Loading to Drone in DAW

Posted

Hey all,

I was wondering if there is any advantage/disadvantage,

things to keep in mind or any differences

when loading a plugin into a drone via Synfire or

loading a plugin into a drone from the DAW?

Best,

tL.

No difference, but loading from SF is recommended. Advantage in SF: Rack setup is done in one place (devices, sounds).

DAW Drones and Synfire share the same list of plug-ins, using the same way to identify them.

So yes, it works either way.

Since you also need to setup a rack module and assign a device, doing this in Synfire would be more comfortable.

The standard workflow is to add a number of empty Drones to the DAW and then return to Synfire to set them up.
