Experimenting with combining elements of classical music and electronica

Posted

I've been using SFP for over a year now and I love it.  Been experimenting with combining elements from classical music with modern electronica.  Want to share one song here called Black Ice. In addition to SFP I use Cubase 6, EWQL, Omnisphere, Zebra2 and Geist. This song has chord progressions inspired by Wagners' Ride of the Valkyries and uses a couple of string prashes from Beethoven along with prhases I generate on the midi keyboard.

Well done, I like the floating elements and the Wagnarian type atmosphere that you have coming in and out.  You might consider more of the Wagnerian orchestral stuff, along the shuffle hiphop beat (love it).  Not crazy about the 'wah' type fuzz riff. Cause it keeps trying to bring the piece to a different place, than where I think it want's to go (I know prettty subjective comment).  The good thing, is you can create a part container, move it up to the top of arrangement and green mute it, so it's out of the way but still retrievable.

The chord changes are great.

Which EWQL library are you using? do you have a device list for it?

Keep up the good work.

Thanks mark for your comments Mark :) Yes, will try to add more orchestral stuff, actually what is there is also mixed quite far in the background in most of the parts maybe I could bring it to the forgound in some places. Will also try a different sound for the wah fuzz riff.

I'm using EWQL Platinum. No unfortunatly don't have device desriptions for it but it should be fully compatible with EWQL Gold.
