Has the loopbackdriver ( internal MIDI) something to do with MIDI Input ?

Posted

Midi input option is for a midi input from a midi controller keyboard
So it has nothing to do with the internal MIDI option in the ports configuration?

Internal Midi is a another description for the loopback driver?

I install A VSTi in a DAW, but wonder how i get a particular sound from a VSti in the Audio$ Midi Setup ?

In the videotutorials you must be aware that there is used a loaded device file or not
This videotutorial https://users.cognitone.com/content/setting-sound-racks-and-global-instruments is about assigning sounds and make a device file?

How about direct soundadressing in HN2 ..i  think this works only for one song where you saved the configuration of th edirect soundadressing ?
It is chanced in HN2.5.. it is now MIDI or shared Rack for global instruments

It is getting more and more confusing because it is not more related with the old videotutorial
Now i must make a comparison with the old HN2 and new HN2.5 situation..to understand this you make a study of  the GUI ..

I think Cognitone must make a new videotutorial for setting up a sound rack and global instrument in HN2.5
I am lost with this software and the solution is a soundsetup wizard for HN2

Note:Type:  ???  this really userundfriendly  ..type of what?
let my try to deduce here what the meaning is ? : type: MIDI or Shared rack  ..probabbly is MIDI for hardware devices and Shared rack for  Assembled VSTi? (=software) so the direct sound adressing make use of hardware or software sondmodules and a combination of both
Channel 1 has a hardware soundmodule and channel 2 uses a software VSTi in a DAW

Yes, on Windows "Internal" Midi is the name of the loopback ports set up with the LoopBe driver.

How about direct soundadressing in HN2

It's already there. Use the MIDI instrument type.

Type:  ???

The user manual PDF was updated for 2.5. It uses the same terms like Synfire now. The Shared Rack is for device descriptions shared by all songs you create. MIDI type instruments are saved with each song.

A setup wizard would be great if HN2 was able to create loopback ports, insert VSTs in a DAW, etc. Unfortunately this is not possible. A wizard would be only a simple todo list to click through.

SFP Can use external VSti in a DAW (drones) and uses internal VSti ..why it is not possible to use the VSti inside HN2 and do this automatically connecting it by HN2
So HN2 gets also private VSTi's
I don't see the point that this programming is too large for HN2 ?
