Who do you think you are? the only customer.....you need the software...you will wait then.

I too bought HN2.  After a couple of weeks I ordered Synfire Pro. So glad that I did..  Andre is usually very good responding.  Be sure he is attending to something which requires his immediate attention. The company is small, so be patient.

When you order the software it comes very quickly.  (two days for me I remember).  You can buy the Ilok from a local music store. They seem to be  universally priced at $50. (al least in US). It's very easy to install.

Yes go over the videos, read, read, experiment, read thru the old posts.  Write down questions as you go along.

With something as complicated as SF, you really need to understand each concept or feature as you go along. Skipping over too many things just for (WOW) of it, is immediately exciting but will lead to frustration, later if you don't do your homework..

Ask questions, Andre and Supertonic are very good at responding..

Good luck

One thing for sure, is this software requires patience.  It is very complicated, and takes a while to get the full grasp of it.. I've had it several months now, and still have a lot to learn.. It is a good deal more complicated than HN2.  It will alter the way you perceive of music..

I've already used some of the concepts in my DAW (Logic Pro), Taking phrases, and using them as a quantizing pallette for other phrases.  Moving a phrase to a different part  of the song and altering it to fit the current chords.

This software will really open your eyes.  It is the most I've ever spent on software, but also perhaps is the best investment I have ever made..

Well ..Cognitone is hard working on new versions of HN2 and Synfire pro than it is possible a automatic installer for VSti in a DAW

You can read about it ..a manual installation for VSti now is rather troublesome as i know myself ;)

Also i asked also for a synfire pro demo, but Cognitone asked me to wait till they are ready with the new versions

There is also a issue with the a new mac operating system..so they must repair this too for their software

They are too busy to look on the forum now..seems to me..or perhaps they are on holiday ?

HI janamdo If you change the rules you must face consequences .. we are clients .. If you send a message to any company in the world expect to be answered , there is no place here to guess or they are busy with other inventions.

there are many alternatives software out there and some of them much better than SF .. No big deal .

thank you for reply really appreciated  :)

Yes you are right i don't know why they are so sloppy and also dumb to not respond to your request for their software

- "the customer is king"as we say in Holland
You must ask them for a explanation what is going on ?
Greetings

PS: i think they are on holiday

I'm already sent PM to the admin here tell him as you side what is going on ? and guess what ? .. no answer :)

anyway you must wait for demo :) i cant believe there are still people who think this way and we are in 2011 !!

another point SF is SO expensive 800$ !!

Cheers

SF is expensive but to develop music intelligent algorithms is time consuming..i think
They are now working on a automatic installer for HN2 and SF for VSTi in a DAW and that is necessary, because manual installation of assembling a VSTi soundbank by myself is complicated for a starter

Now there is a direct connection between a midi channel in your DAW and SF (or Harmony Navigator 2 (HN2))
No importing midi data to SF with save and load ( i think) , but with one click you put your midi song material in SF/HN2

That is good news for HN2 , because than you can do the melody in your DAW and get to midi data easy in HN2 for harmonising and so on
I don't know if they get this all working reliable ?

did you check your spam folder? For any unknown reason I get mails from cognitone always there.

Well , I'm still using HN2 demo version and I be able to connect HN2 and Logic via MIDI , automatic installer for HN2 it will be a good option ..

Cheers .

Your mails may have been trapped by our spam filter or the intrusion protection is running mad again.

Due to the heavy changes the software is undergoing we are totally screwed. Have trouble with deployment and everything.  The Mac installers do no longer work on 10.7 and while Andre was fixing this, the download service needed also to be changed to deal with the different package format. All this is not yet up again. The current demo does not work properly anymore, so it is really worth waiting for the 1.5 release that also has audio support. It makes a huge difference.

To answer your question: An iLok is not required for the demo. Instead you need an online connection to start the trial. For the full product you would need a generation 2 iLok. We ship those with the box.

We hope to get everything working again soon.
