Why do we have to have a limit of 8 custom controllers?
For those of us interested in electronic based music, I can easly see a need of 24 or more custom controllers. I don't know if this was requested recently but assuming other people would like this feature I hope you'll chime in support of the idea

you can never have too many controller lanes ;)
dont forget though that the 8 are in addition to the 6 'normal' ones such as expression/mod/bend/breath, etc. So you have 14 possible controllers, and these can be different for each sound instance/patch.
I use ableton so the 8 map naturally to the 8 modulation sources in a 'ableton rack', but I hear what you are saying.
