Same chords, different sounds/colors

Posted

I'm sure it is related to the interpretation parameter, but i would like to be able to overrride the process which makes that same chords into a progression are played differently (and thus appearing with different colors into the bar).

Where one could find description of how colors are related to the interpretation of the chords into a progression ?

And also, how to make two same chords play in the same way ?

Perhaps it is not yet possible in this version of HN/Synfire.

Greetings

The color is related to the horizontal scale, which depends on the key signature and the chord (for the most part).

Select the desired span of the progression and use Vector >> Estimate Keys Relations & Scales to achieve a homogeneous scale selection for those chords.

You can also pick the same horizontal scale for each chord manually. That should also select the same vertical scale, unless the chords were assigned to different global keys.

Ah, and be sure to disable the Auto-Correction switch, if you don't want Synfire/HN to mess up your manual selections.

What is unclear to me is the assignation of colors regarding to the harmonic context window.

In the progression bar, colors are those of the harmonic context window, how can i get those colors into the palette editor ?

It seems that i don't find the harmonic context colors into the color presets for palettes.

I guess those are the colors for horizontal scales,

edit:

[quote]The color is related to the horizontal scale, which depends on the key signature and the chord (for the most part).

there is no preset for that in the menu, this would be useful to have them, i mean, for visual coherence when working both with the progression editor and palette.

thanks
