SF2 - Dynamics

Posted

Hi, Ive got a question for the "Dynamics" attribute:

In my KK instrument there is a default set to CC 1, which can also be directly changed by the Keyboard wheel. So it seems to be a kind of KK standard.

In SF2 I tried to apply also "Dynamics", but it has no effect. Does it mean it uses a different midi CC? Is KK not the standard or SF2 or is there another reason? Or do I just need to link it to CC 1? If yes, where?

I would recommend fixing values of modulation wheel (cc1)=80 and expression (c11)=100 in Synfire as
global parameters.

This means in your orchestral template that all instruments are set to modulation wheel value 80 and expression value 100
You can start recording right away.

@janamdo, if your proposal is to change those settings as program defaults, I would argue that its actually a good thing to be forced to think about meaningful values. To have defaults is dangerous. Also 100% expression is often too much. Example: I use Audiomodellings SWAM instruents, and sweetspot for many say Sax sololines is in range of 50%.

100 for CC11 is  78% , so its not a maximum value and 80 for cc1 is 62%
You can use this for orkestral libraries , but the hint is to use it global in Synfire
