Smaller visual note value raster ?

Posted

In the phrase  editor where I can edit my figure it seems that the smallest visual raster (vertical lines) is 1/4. But when I  enter 1/16 notes I need a finer raster to have a better orientation where to draw the notes.

There are these little quantisation buttons but they only determine the possible positions.

THanks,

henrik

Agreed. The grid should zoom with the display. Will consider this for a future update.

Yes, it's a bit annoying that Synfire do not have setting options for the displayed grid. I help myself with a little trick: I use the lines of the Step parameter as a visual background (see Gif).

Wow. You are going to great lengths to get that grid. I think I should better hack this into the next update to make everyone happy ;-)

Thanks for sharing your trick with everyone.

It's easy to get the grid. However, the disadvantage of this method is that the Step parameter affects the playback. So, if you want to hear what you have drawn you need to delete the Step parameter first.

Also make sure that View >> Global Parameter Shadow  is switched off. Otherwise you will see shadows of the Figure transformed by the Step parameter.

Is this already planned and if so, when can we expect this release ?

Unfortunately this didn't work (yet) and needed to be postponed.

The next update is already around the corner.
