Tips and tricks for working with phrases on WIKI pages

Posted

Sometimes i read about some tips here on the forum about working with phrases, but the actual details how it is done is not included in the text.

So if there a special treatment possible/neccessary..post it on WIKI

Nice. The guitar sounds like a harpsichord at times. Check if you can improve the melodic expressions by grouping segments in your figures. This avoids the "random picking" effect. Most users do not do this, because it is a little work, but it really pays.

Thank you very much. These kinds of tips and suggestions are always welcome. Resample and drop repetitions have been also very useful tools in some figures optimization.

Well, this tip is nothing special. It just reminds of the basic way a figure works.

Grouping multiple symbols to a segment ensures their melodic movement is preserved (up/down). If they are not grouped, the resulting movement is unpredictable and may seem "random" or unmotivated to the listener. If you have melody in your figures, the symbols belonging to a melodic snippet should be grouped together.

The import recognition is not perfect. Often the grouping needs some manual polishing.

This is also described in the manual.
