Factories Load When Not Asked For

Posted

Hi,

After dragging a Harmony snippet to the Embedded Library, if I click on the Library entry just to examine it and confirm what's there all the KIM Factories start to load.

Factories have not been involved in this scenario at all up to this point, so it seems like a bug to me.

Beyond that specific case, I think an always-visible and effective 'Skip All' would ideally be available on the 'Loading KIM Factories' progress bar in order to quickly and completely short-circuit this procedure anytime it starts when not desired.

At least one phrase in the snippet was generated by a factory.

That makes sense, but I doubt that is actually the case here.

The Harmony snippets are from a Library that was built from imported MIDI block chords.

I have no recollection of using a Factory to generate Harmony.

Still, new as I am, it is possible I'm somehow mistaken.

How can I examine the contents in question to see if they had Factory origin?

Test file attached (happens to be the same as another topic).

Factory-generated phrases show with a factory icon in the library.

There could be other reasons for Synfire to need access to the factories. The first time this happens they are loaded.

OK.

My concern is that it seems that the Factories are being opened spuriously.

How could a user know, or how could even Cognitone know, if that is the case?
