I think it would be cool to have midi mapping to synfire parameters. The best usage of this that I've experienced would be Ableton's midi mapping functionality, where by hitting cmd + m one can assign any parameter or button to a midi assignment. A creative usage of this, that I think would be cool, would be to assign successive figure interpretation buttons to the ranges of a fader or encoder. So that while loop playing a figure or segment one could turn the encoder one direction and get a stricter, more chordal, interpretation, or turn it the other way and get a looser, more melodic, interpretation.
It just occurred to me that it takes time for synfire to interpret a figure, making this realtime feature impractical. I'll throw it out here regardless as I'd still like to see easy midi mapping and maybe as a consideration for future implementation.
