Sometimes we are importing from a set of MIDI files which have been prepared with all the data slightly leading the bar/beat locations. For example, the files have been prepared for realtime transmission and offset by a tick or two so that they go out in time to effect downstream equipment without being late about it.
However, for Synfire purposes, that slight lead in the data locations can create problems (depending on the goal). For example, dividing accurately into intended phrases/chunks as will be thrown off when block chords start anywhere but exactly on the bar/beat.
The suggested option would fix this situation for bulk imports under these circumstances.
