Still sussing out my inter-ops ...
I find that I can drag a set of chords out of Scaler2 to a .mid file on the desktop:
and then I can do a File -> Import to a Synfire Progression:
Nice!
My question is - Is there anyplace in Synfire where I could drag that .mid file into directly?
Alternatively, Is there anyplace in Synfire where I could drag directly from Scaler itself into Synfire? (bypassing the file-save-to-desktop part entirely)
Put another way, is it possible to trigger the File -> Import procedure (for a .mid file) via drag-and-drop?
Thanks.

Hi.
Can you say where specifically you are indicating to do the drop?
BTW, I'm on a PC (rather than a Mac) if that should matter.

Synfire is only marginally aware of things that are dragged from the outside and hover over its windows. Therefore you dont see much visual feedback. Although you can drop a midi file and the import dialog will pop up.

Hi As Housekeeper said you can drag from Scaler direct to Synfire and a pop up window turns up as you do when you make a midi import. Then you have to select the midi file and click import.
You can drag the same way from Apps like Toontracks EZbass, EZKeys and EZdrum very handy!

Thanks for the comments.
I see now I can drop a .mid file over the track area in the Structure tab and that will pop up the File Import dialog. Nice!
For reference, dragging it to every other location I've attempted produced the null result.
