We updated our entire tool chain, libraries and SDKs to more current versions. This should have improved overall compatibility and performance and may also have resolved some issues we are not yet aware of. The update was necessary for technical reasons.
Some important and long standing bugs have been resolved.
Feature Enhancements:
- Audio Engine 5.1.3
- Audio Engine: Capture audio output as stems (experimental)
- File Dialog: Make window resizable
- File Dialog: Reveal directories and files in Explorer
- Palette: Circle navigation should keep current Scale Set if ALT-key is held
Resolved Bugs:
- Enablement and indication not updated consistently on macOS menus
- Audio Engine: Drag export from Drone did not request data from Synfire
- Phrase editor lost menu focus after parameter selection
- Chords-only playback should not trigger mixed hosts warning
- Deleting rack module preset does not immediately refresh list
Other Changes:
- Audio Engine: Updated ProTools SDK (AAX)
- Audio Engine: Increased default scheduling headroom to 120 ms
- Double-click on timeline should start playback (right-click to remove loop selection)

Synfire 2.5.3 Build #11
- Experimental: Ducking for Figure segments
- Rendering: Variation should be compiled earlier in parameter chain
- Editing: Display approximated note durations for 1/7, 1/9, 1/11 tuplets
- Rack module library not refreshed after moving items

Synfire 2.5.3 Build #15
- Installer: Fixed issues with product UUIDs (if you had issues installing, please try again)
- Editing: Graying out of parameter snapshot option was too strict
- Library: Don't automatically preview phrase after deleting, duplicating, etc
- Harmony should highlight currently playing chord only in physically present data
- Hardware: Fixed compatibility issues with AMD Zen 5 CPU

Synfire 2.5.3 Build #16
- Rendering: Option to include note lengths with ducking span
- Preferences: Fixed a crash when changing local menu bars
- Container Import: Retain custom rack module properties (color, icon, name)
- Container Import: Retain original sort order of rack modules
- New instrument with same sound should retain group, color, etc
- Windows: Updated code signatures and integrity checks
