I'm not the most savy with midi and routing so I was hoping someone had completed this in Windows XP and might be able to help a fella out.... I'm using HN2 limited version and just want to use chords only mode with NI Akoustic Piano.....

I don't have FL, but in general you set up the output of the instrument in HN to be one of the virtual midi ports in Yoke.
In FL you then set the midi input to that same Yoke port.
Watch out for midi channels! The Yoke port is just like a midi cable - it can transport 16 midi channels. I'm not sure how FL works in that aspect (omni or a set channel).
You have the set one channel per instrument in HN.
I think this is one of the major limitations in HN. It's just so..... :ouch:

I don't have FL Studio, but here's how it works on Windows:

If you just want to play NI Acoustik Piano,
1. load the NI Piano into a FL Studio track,
2. set the track's MIDI input to "MIDI YOKE NT" or "Internal Midi" (if you use LoopBe1) and channel 1,
3. arm the track for recording,
4. set the global "Generic" instrument in HN2 LE to use the same port "Internal Midi" and channel 1 (and be sure you set the Acoustik Piano instrument category, so HN knows how it is played).
The video shows how to do that with Reaper, but FL Studio probably is not much different.
Of course you need the NI Kontakt Player and the NI Acoustik Piano sample library. HN2 LE does not ship with this plug-in included.

Appreciate the insight....... new to production / in a hands on degree ....... I have a mac book pro, bootcamped and am trying to figure out the best way to sketch out harmonies, I figure when I really get to producing I will follow your set up listed in the response...... However, I'm now thinking of using Akoustic piano in stand alone mode with HN, on the mac side and just record the output.... Is this possible??? I have the recording part down as i can use Audio Hi-jack, but how about.... Setting up HN to transmit it's midi output to Akoustic piano in stand alone mode????? If so could you let me know how????????

NI Acoustik Piano in standalone mode works fine. It also has a recording feature built in. Select the correct midi port for input as described above and you are done.

So I went to the Device Repository > Edited
and downloaded the NI_AkoustikPiano.device
I then opened up the Audio Midi Setup function on my mac
Clicked on the IAC Driver
checked the box > Device is online
Added 4 ports > using the + sign
Then closed this function
Next I open HN (2.05) and then opened its Audio & Midi Setup
Under the Header menu >> Device
I chose >> Open and ADD...
I chose the NI_AkoustikPiano.device and chose Open
All the piano names open in the Sounds Column and NI's info is populated all through the Device Descriptions page
However in the loaded Descriptions column
the NI Akoustik Piano + name is a light blue color ?????
There is only 1 check next to dynamic #1
I don't know what else I should change or check in this Window?????? :?:
So now when I go to the Routing tab in the Audio & Midi setup window
The IAC Drivers 1 -4 that I added are visible, but they are all greyed out
So do I choose 1 and then check the box at the bottom (Use this Port for Input)??????
In the Device Descriptions column on this same tab the NI Akoustik Piano + name is light blue again
Am i suppose to uncheck the
QuickTime GM Synth <--- Internal GM Synth
which is now highlight with the blue line across it in the Midi Inputs and Outputs section and
the Internal GM Synth has the same blue line highlight across it in the Device Descriptions column
How do i set this up correctly?????????
In Akoustik Piano's Audio & Midi Settings > Midi tab
the Input and Output Interface sections shows
the first 3 of the 4 IAC Driver IAC Buses are ON
On the main screen of the plug in
do i change the Input channel to 1 or do i leave it on Omni?????
What else do I need to do in the plug in????????
So how do i set this up right, to use HN and Akoustik Piano in stand alone mode ???????????

The blue name of the device indicates it is a template (something to copy/paste individual sounds from).
Uncheck the "Template" switch for the device and you will be able to connect it to a port.
You can use a single port with one channel only. Be sure you select the desired piano type at the NI program. It can not be selected via MIDI, as far as I remember.
