Uses for a loopbackdriver

There are 2 uses for a loopbackdriver

1. connecting HN2 with a VST  for playback and composition with HN2
   So you compose with HN2 and save your midifiles within HN2
   Than you can import the HN2 midifile into DAW
   To get this working is a 3 step proces
   - connecting loopbackdriver  from HN2 to DAW Midi In
   - Host ( =DAW): connecting VSTi with HN2
   - Connecting Device with HN2 ( device description)
   All these 3 steps are explained on website


2. Record HN2 + VSTI  -> on one midichannel ( all midi tracks from HN2)
   This is only valid for recording with a GM soundmodule used as sounddevice for HN2  

For instance take the Catanya arpegiator VST
For this you are forced to use a loopbackdriver for recording the Catanya output on a midi channel
This , because there is no midi save  for the Catanya VSt when you compose

So the loopbackdriver is used here on two ways : Catanya connecting for playback + composing (1) and recording composing (2)
With HN2 it is not necessary to recording composing because there is a Midi save functionality and this can be exported

For me it was confusing, because there was a comparison by me with Catanya and HN2 for using the loopbackdriver
