What is HN2 like in these areas- does it have the ability to not work in the Major/Minor/Modal system? Can it deal with Pitch Class and Matrices for example or whole tone scales and it's harmony? Thanks.

You can define your own catalog of scales and chords. Other users have done this already. With a little luck one of them will reply here.
There are a few basic triads that you can not delete, but you dont need to use them in your progressions or palettes. The chords and scales (interval structures) you define will show up with their own names in the palettes.
Many tools however will no longer make sense with atonal music: The harmonizer, circle of 5th, progression based coloring, etc. You probably dont want to use them anyway.

In a few weeks there will be a new demo available that you can download and try. Depending on how old your last installed demo is, the current download may work too.
