...if you have a fairly busy section you are working with for import, and just perform recognition with a big ol' fat 11th or 13th chord in the harmony parameter? That seems to work well with some fragments that become overly complex when trying to tidy up a section of the harmonic progression for the figure recognition...
Was just wondering if there are any caveats to that approach?

That should work fine. Yes, why not.
Chords with a lot of extensions will more precisely define the scale being in effect, which will allow the green symbols to assume more correct values during recognition. What actually matters most is the base triad (most importantly its root).
