I would like to see the ability, in conjuncition with a command key combo, to slide left or right the selection in the phrase window. Sliding would be a much quicker way to experiment than cut/ copy/ paste.
To make this work I think you would have to have some boundary marker around the 'slid' selection, so you could reselect it without it falling and losing its boundaries into the underlying phrase ... sort of like a layer.
Also, the rule would be that any underlying part from the original phrase would not play unless it began and ended fully before or fully after the 'slid' section. In other words, any part of the phrase over lapped in any way by the 'slid' section would not play.
This may be beyond the ability of the underlying code, which probably recompiles whatever is in the phrase after cut/ paste/ copy/ clear/ trim, but it would be great.
