Hello,
New user of synfire here and I'm struggling to make synfire do exactly what I want.
I have a repeating chord progression and each time the chord switches, I have a "C" segment of 5 stacked symbols. All the symbols are in the same positioning across all chord changes. Why is it that the voice leading is different the SECOND time the chords play? The only difference is the last chord in the progression. But the first 3 chords are playing at a lower range. See attached screenshot.
Are there any references out there for learning the basics of this program. I've read the manual, watched the videos on cognitone site, but I still feel like I'm not grapsing the workflow of the program. This is great for coming up with ideas, but what if you have certain ideas you want to implement. For example, what's the difference of changing the symbol position per chord, rather than changing the chord harmony inversion etc. on the right tab.
Any guidance would be appreciated, and especially why the repeaing progression sounds different on the repeat.

Your chord segments look like they have two anchors. This means you have two segments stacked over each other. You should remove one of them.
Regarding the inversions, the second round is different from the first, because other chords have played before, while during the first round, the first chord starts from scratch. You can flag the first or last harmonic context ("chord") as a "line break" that resets VL: Transform >> Toggle Alignment.

Great, thank you. Will be looking forward to some more tutorials and workflows.
