Are there any other Synfire users also trying to use The Score vst ( sonuscore) ?
Is now cheaper to purchase The Score, so just seeing if Synfire can do anything with it ?
In Cubase it seems to work fine, but have tried the midi import feature in Synfire from the The Score , but this is more difficult in Synfire.
In Cubase, the melody track of the Score via drag and drop as midi in Cubase is shown as a track (install the VST the score as rack in Cubase).
This melody track you let play in Cubase and it generates in the Score VST a complete arrangement.
This arrangement can also be midi drag and drop from the Score into Cubase where 10 tracks are shown (The Score has a maximum of 10 tracks).
In Synfire the tracks must be imported one by one and the figurere recognition must be done with it, so it will sound different than the original arrangement of The Score.
In fact The Score is similar to accompaniment styles found on a keyboard with an accompaniment machine, but goes much further
If you can make The Score work smoothly in Synfire , then this is an idea generator for composing
If you master The Score well in Cubase , then the midi of this can also be used in Synfire
I have the impression that the ease of use in Cubase is much easier for The Score and also in other DAW than via Synfire.
Would you have the The Score functionality in Synfire, like in Cubase this opens up many possibilities for composing, according to many
I don't think anything is going to change in Synfire to allow the Score to function easily in this.
So I think if you purchase The Score VST and use it in a DAW, this will allow you to start creating more structured building blocks in Synfire.

- Play around with The Score until you have something you like.
- Save as MIDI.
- Import and extract phrases. Keep instruments of the same pattern in a folder.
- Drag and drop arrange something new and wild in Synfire.
The advantage of this tool is that all sounds are ready to use, which is always tempting (with Synfire you have to set them up yourself). Disadvantage is your music sounds indistinguishable from a million others. You are running pre-manufactured styles and patterns.
But Synfire can help with that because
a) you will ultimately use different sounds
b) you will arrange in a style that is individual to yourself

Thanks , yes, but let's see how that goes with creating a midi in The Score and importing it into Synfire.
