Chords change sound when dragging from pallete to editor!

Posted

Hola fellow HN2 famz!

So I got the demo and like everyone else in this forum, i'm in love with HN2.. now I played around with the pallete and got some great sounding progressions. When dragging say a Bm7 note to the editor it changes and sounds like a higher octave. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I have Auto correct unchecked and am still getting these results in both LE and Advanced. Its almost like the bass sound changes too... I click Bm7 in the pallete and it sounds one way and click Bm7 in the editor that I just dragged it to and sounds different... It's a bit ftustrating and I know i'm a super noob at this but I would like a simple way to arrgange progressions without ripping out what left of my facial hair.... any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!

The pitches of a chord depend on the previously played chords (voice leading). You will hear different pitches when clicking an isolated chord in a palette than when played in sequence from the notepad or progression editor.

The pitches also depend on the playing ranges of the instrument (global instruments "Chords" and "Bass"). You may need to slightly adjust these if you experience hefty pitch leaps in certain keys.
