Convince Me

Posted

Hi, I'm a prospective buyer of Synfire. It really looks like a great tool. I've spent the last couple of days reading, with much more to go.

I have yet to demo Synfire, however, if users out yonder would be so kind as to post your best and favorite music pieces done with Synfire, it would go a long way to help motivate and inspire me. :yeah:

Thank you kindly!

Try the demo. that did it for me. you need to see the power unfold before your eyes. Ive had SFP for about 5 years and still amazed daily. I dont know how i lived without it. I dont think listenng to other creations would be a selling point so much as seeing how you create the music. For a composer SFP is the greatest thing to happen to music since the piano.

Thanks duderanch, I'm gonna request a demo ASAP. I just figgered I'd ask to see what some people been doin. I haven't found many examples on the forum yet that blow my skirt up. Maybe I'm miss'n em? Got any suggestions or point me in the right direction?

But you're right, the demo will be the deciding factor. I've been a fan of computer assisted composing for a long time.

Thanks again!

Here are a few of my compositions. Every instrument but percussion was composed in SFP.  Just trying the demo was enough for me. I didnt need to listen to anything to see that SFP was for me. The ability to play in phrases and tweeze midi into anything you think of was enough for me.  ;)

In my case, I have recouped the money from the first song that I have made using Synfire, that being:

My favourite tool whenever I need some fresh ideas. But you'll need to build a solid library of midi phrases. I have around 3 gb of such libraries that I have build in the last 2 years.

I use it only for dance music, since this is my thing, but, along with Acustica Nebula for mixing, and Nexus 2 for sounds, it is one of the best investment that I have ever made in my career. I have made a special box that I keep the ilok in, with an usb cable, so that it is secured from accidents.

P.S.: Except you use the demo extensively for one or two weeks, with some decent libraries, I don't think you will get the taste of it.  It took me about 3 months of making libraries (few hours every week) and a lot of trial and error to fall inlove with it. I have bought it after watching the demo video, since I have no musical training and now I feel that I have a pro musician by my side every time I work. Now it is one of my secret weapons :) Go for it and welcome the community!
