Often you want to divide a container in several spots. SFP should default to assume what track is highlighted, is the track you still want to divide other than having to select it every time.
There could also be multi divide. If you hold down Option and then select a one bar length, SFP will then split the rest of the container into one block measures, or have a smare divide, which would divide it up by phrases.
I often do this in Logic, create two or three bass parts, then copy/mute/paste together a great performance from three fast takes. SFP could benefit from this routine also.
To put another way, break up instrument line the same way SFP splits up a track in Library import.
I find myself importing a midi file 2 - 3 times once as a static arrangement, (notes are true to original performance), 2nd - an analyzed modified arrangement. And third as a library. It become fast and easy to assemble parts from those three different components.
