I quite like Karma Jan, nice one!

There's some nice sounds in it, did you use Halion?  If so, which patches?

I think i managed to reconstruct the arrangement from the backup rack.
The synth lead is sound ..Autobahn from HAlion SE Pro

I included the midi from Karma.. .

Yes, i have used Halion5 Pete, and it is only a Synth lead that is not a GM sound,

A mixed mode device description is used.. ( handy to combine GM sounds and not GM sounds )

Thanks for the file!

I see you're not a big fan of containers!  I struggled with them for a long time but you really should try and get used to using them if you can.  It makes everything so much easier.

I especially like the guitar finger-picking parts.  How did you create them?  Did you play them yourself, draw them in or start with a MIDI file and edit them a bit?

You can imagine now how difficult is for a not musician to produce a song like this in Synfire, because it is made i guess by a skilled composer.
I import the whole midi ..so it is not composed by me in this case.. and chanced only the melody ( what is satisfactory  i think)
The guitar parts start with 4 bars and repeat this and the guitars are further extended..

I am also thinking on this example as reverse engineering song...the challence is to start with some bars and build up this song and try to get the same song in a container structure as exercise

Yes, this would be much better in containers, and then the phrases would be easier to re-use in another song too!

For example, the flute is very intermittent.  Just mark an area where it is playing within the main container, do Container > New Container (or similar, I'm not at music PC right now) and make a snapshot of the flute figure.  Then you can make aliases of it and move them wherever you like.  Or make the aliases 'real' and change them, flip them, whatever. It really is amazing!

The guitar I suspect repeats over and over several times.  If one certain pattern was in a container, it would be much easier to control the structure of the song, and like I  said, save short passages in a library and re-use them elsewhere.

Perhaps Pete, you can show us your arrangement build up with containers...i am curious how much time it take for you to come up with this ?
The synth and guitar are in lead of this song, you could also add some more background violins on the foreground..there are more possibilities for mixing.

Pete, how about you arrangement did you already convert the midi to a container structure in Synfire?
First is to now what are the songsections in this song.

Ah no, sorry Jan,

I'm not working on your arrangement, too busy working on my own at the moment.

I'm just a man, so I can only concentrate on one thing at a time :)
