While I'm mentioning features in Ableton that I'd like to see in Synfire, I figured why not add one more . . .
I'd like to be able to audition Figures in my library while the song is playing. I like that we're able to listen to figures in the harmonic context. But it would be great to also hear how they fit into the song before moving them into the arrangement. Over the past few weeks I've been importing and editing more MIDI files that I'll probably even get around to using (harvesting MIDI is an art unto itself, one that I've come to really enjoy) and I have plans to add a whole lot more going forward. Loading files into an arrangement and then removing it can become tedious over time. Not the worst thing in the world, but I like to find as many shortcuts in my workflow as possible. So if I could hear a Figure within the context of the composition before deciding if I want to use it, that would help a ton.
