A Nymph Teet

Posted

I came up with this piece for FAWM 2013. I only spent a couple of hours on it -  should I waste any more time on it?

What is FAWM?  If it is meant as a quiet background piece it does work while fashion models walked around, or a commentator was talking; it's perfect..  Somtimes a piece really can be a piece of 'audio wallpaper'. The repetition makes us feel safe. . Very intriguing bell song..

You might consider some more variety in it.. Like having the bells fade out and another instruement come in with a complementing theme. Likewise the pad sound could evolve more - filter up/down, resonants, or migrate into using another pad sound.  It's a juggling act.

I have been listening a lot lately to the Beatles again. With all these alternate takes.. It's totally fascinating to hear what parts were replaced or refined.  In some songs, things are changing every two bars, which I  never heard before..

Yes spent a bit more time on it..  You can always go back to an earlier version.

I was just listening  to a few of your other posts, you're quite good at the 'electronica ambient' thing.. I can see all kind of visual objects coming into focus.  Bellwell Rondels is fascinating.. I think the pacing of ideas and alternate sounds is well thought out.

FAWM - February is Album Writing Month

February Album Writing Month or FAWM is an annual songwriting challenge. The challenge is to compose 14 original songs in the 28 days of February.

I only completed three tracks this year. Partly due to the fact that I replaced all my gear in January and was learning a new OS as well as new synths, and partly because you need to spend a lot more time promoting your music, rather than writing it, to get any response.

I doubt I'll do any more with this piece but there will be more foltronika!

Thanks for the comments.
