Retain Harmony

Posted

Hi,

I can't seem to make synfire remember the last harmony i used when I open the harmonizer.

I see the current chords at the top but at the bottom the chords have all changed back to their initial analysis.

I have also noticed that harmony always works across the whole progression regardless of any span selection.

Is there a function or option to deal with this? Perhaps I misunderstand what the Retain Harmony parameter is for?

Right now, Im just copying and pasting the changes in but it would be nice to just make the changes in the harmonizer in place.

P.S. I think I'm coming around the bend on the Synfire learning curve. This has really perked up my music world in every way.

I still have yet to really dig into how the different interpretation strategies affect the output. That and getting comfortable with inputting synthetic scales are on the list.

I think the "retain harmony" bit in the harmonizer is currently bugged. The behavior changed with a recent patch and I think that it was not intended..

Ahh, good to know.

Actually I just realized that you can just copy the harmony parameter before opening the harmonizer and then just paste it in.

It adds a step but, much easier to live with than the alternative.
