Rhythm in melody

Posted

Hello There!
I need help! I record a midi melody with the rhythm I want. When I imported into NH2. The rthyms changes to the one the accompaniment has.
How do I use an accompaniment and keep my melody rhythm?
:x

Unless you set a specific quantization, imported rhythm is not changed. The accompaniment pattern does not influence the melody rhythm.

Be sure you import using the "Import for Harmonizer (static)" preset. That will retain your midi unchanged in any case.

Also you should import melodies to a protected instrument track (red background). That will prevent them from being replaced when switching the accompaniment pattern for a song.

Am I suppossed to change the melody from static picth after it has been recognized by NH2 Harmonizer? Here I am sending you an example of what I am talking about.
I want the rhythm of the melody to dictate the rhythm in the accompaniment.
I am a songwriter; not a musician....that is why I purchased NH2. I still think you guys have done a great job..I am trying to learn this software.
Thanks again

You possibly confuse pitch and rhythm here. Rhythm has not much to do with pitch in a situation where you want an accompaniment to follow the rhythm of a melody. An imported melody retains the original rhythm in any case. Pitch is retained only, if you choose Static Pitch preset. Otherwise it will follow the progression of the song.
