I have imported a MIDI file and it is located in the root container.
Now I want to save the first 8 bars in the embedded library.
How do I do this, what method should I follow?

The Cmd-E (Ctrl-E) technique can be used to select specific spans of time and save the info into the Embedded Library.
This video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWJz4XIos3E
gets into that around the 2 minute mark, and also covers alot more.

Yes , thanks it most be done track by track, but not as a whole is possible
Although you could divide a container ?

select the timespan you want, snap shot it into a new container then drag that container into the library? That's assuming you want the multi-instrument setup preserving in the library.

Thanks, never thought about this kind of snapshotting. let me try this
Advantages compared with the track by track method ?

I did it this way: I placed the snapshot in a new container and then dragged it to the library.
This has the advantage that it remains in a container structure and works fast
This is in contrast to the extraction method of dragging track by track to the library.

Yes, Jan, you already knew this, because you've have Synfire for a long time, right?
That's right, but I haven't used Synfire for a while and my knowledge has faded a bit :-)
