Hello
If it is a GM (general midi) drumtrack 10 ..you can see=read (parameter screen) in Synfire what the drums parts (instruments) are by name. (import a GM drumtrack to try this out)
So you could make out of this, different midi channel 10 (filter out and split ) in Synfire each with a own drum instrument ( eg: bass drum , snare , hi hat , etc )
Example: say you have ascertain a gm drum track that has 6 drum instruments , then make 6 midichannel 10 tracks in Synfire ..each with his own drum sound ( in de parameter screen you can see the druminstrument name and perhaps midi program number ?)
You could divide the drum tracks in percussion and drums.
Groovemonkey.com has a free drumpack

Probably people are waiting on the next release of Synfire .. and there is not much to discuss about the technical aspects of Synfire as it seems
Although daily, there are people hanging around on the forum...
Yes it is sunday afternoon 17.00 here in Europe,so people are going out and ready for diner.

You could export the track, import it into your DAW, and use the function in your DAW to split the file based on pitch. Most DAWs are able to do this I believe.
Then export the tracks from your DAW into a folder and use the 'MIDI Batch Import' function in Synfire to import the folder, and you will have individual drum parts.
