We didn't plan to increment the version number this quickly. It became necessary because the improved Audio Engine comes with an extended API that requires all components to be updated.
You need not immediately update if you are currently at version 2.5.0, unless you experienced issues with playback timing, dangling notes, external synchronization, or the Drones.
Synfire 2.5.1
Feature Enhancements:
- Audio Engine 5.1.0
- Audio Engine: Improved accuracy of MTC timecode generator
- Audio Engine: Improved timing of external MIDI output
- Audio Engine: Improved timing of engine playback
- Drones: Improved performance and timing accuracy (local and remote)
Resolved Bugs:
- Audio Engine: Fixed compatibility issues with Drones and Ableton Live 12+
- Audio Engine: Fixed issues with delayed and dangling notes
- Snippets: Fixed a crash when exporting a single audio clip
Other Changes:
- Drones: Removed plug-in load menu (use should load plug-ins from Synfire only)
- External Sync: Default protocol should be MTC and saved as global preference

Build #2 is online now.
It fixes a bug with rack modules and the Audio Engine. Snippets MIDI Clip Export was included as an experimental feature. Your feedback is welcome.
On Windows, you may need to uninstall the Audio Engine before updating. The installer sometimes refuses to replace some files when the Audio Engine is updated for the same Synfire version (build numbers not recognized).

Hi Andre
Thanks for the update but I'm still having problems with the drones, its a shame we cant export all stems as audio from synfire then I could work fully in synfire.

Thanks, housekeeper for letting me know about the new video.
All is working well with Studio One 7/macbook M1 there's is a slight glitch when the loop starts but then continues play back fine.
Now I can set up the workflow as needed and in future projects.
