Synfire still the winner...

Posted

I’ve tried a bunch of other MIDI generators, including some AI-based ones, but I keep coming back to Synfire. For me, it’s simpler to work with and plays much nicer with Bitwig. Most other tools give you maybe 4–8 bars of material, while Synfire feels way more robust and musical. When all the instruments lock together and I start swapping chord progressions, it honestly gives me chills.

Recently my Bitwig 5.1 install broke, so I upgraded and checked out the new scale/key features. They’re fine, but pretty standard DAW stuff. Bitwig is great for editing, but when it comes to composing, I still prefer Synfire.

What I’d really like is to use Synfire more tightly inside my DAW. It works, but setting everything up is tedious and time‑consuming. I end up composing in Synfire, then jumping back to Bitwig to mix, then back again to tweak the composition, and I feel all over the place.

How are you all handling your Synfire + DAW workflow? Any tips to streamline this would be super helpful.
