A crash report saved....
Options then are Quit or Continue - continue does nothing
The Synfire Pro window last message is "Starting Audio Engine"
There is no folder I can see that is Library/Application/Support/Synfire Pro/ - though there is a Cognitone folder
Mac OSX 10.8.4
Then is from an older version, then updated and then reinstalled from the latest down load as well.

Try "Repair Permissions" with Disk Utility. This seems like a folder permissions issue.
The folder /Library is hidden since 10.7. You can visit it from the main menu using the "Goto" item: Enter the name including the leading slash.

I have run the permission check.
I have run the individual programs including the .sh in the cognitone folder and checked the permissions of both synfie and cognitne ensuring that I has R/W permissions.
The program stlll will not start.

I remember I had this some time ago and a repair permissions and reinstall fixed it. Also try and delete the launch.sh, if possible. Its permissions may be broken. It is created on demand and should be deleted after use. That is, it should actually not be there.

Thanks for the replies. I delete all the folders in Applications Support and then did a reinstall/
This worked.

I find disk doctor repairs things when disk utility can't. It's a miracle worker.
