When you go to examine phrases in Library phrase pool should automatically open

Posted

When you open a library, unless you've memorized everything you are going to want to look at phrase pool.  It should automatically open for you.

A big issue for SFP is that you end up with a ton of open windows, and you are constantly closing or moving them.

Perhap libraries should shrink down to small boxes with nothing but the title, untill you address.. Perhaps phrase pools should automatially close up, when you move onto a different aspect of creating/editing - unless you double cllick it open.

Logic Pro handled this nicely with the lower half of arrangement page, not familar with other programs and how they do it.  Might bear looking into.

I concur. Alternatively, there should be one library window with different catagories of libraries nested in sub-folders similar to the finder or the browser window in Logic or Live or Studio One. Well hell, just about any DAW.

I really like the idea of having several libraries open at the same time, for mixing/matching/comparing etc. It's also nice to know what libraries, phrases were taken from.  Perhaps if SFP kept track of this for the current project only.. (in the info box which keeps track of instruments and channels they were on)

I find when I go back to a song to work on, I prefer to use phrases from same library, for continuity.  More than once, I've lost track of where the phrase came from and can't find my way back to it. Perhaps at bottom of library window, there could be list of where phrases are put in current project. The point is make windows as small as possible, (still readable) without redundant information.  For instance, the word "library" doesn't need to be at top, we know it's a library, or 2nd column under Library could be the name of library.

This may be  too much detail for SFP to deal with.  I realize that I can create a new library of phrases used.  Perhaps I should rethink it  Still I'd like to see the 'parent' library.

I'd like to see most componants of the arrangement window, 'undocakable. I'd like the parameters on left side of page for me to work, I'd also like to make as many options of SFP accessable with the mouse, (where ever it currently is on screen).  It could easily branch out, or use control option mouse for more parameter.

I find I'm spending most of time moving windows to access buried parameters.
