Hello,
when I attempt to switch the audio engine to Yamaha/Steinberg USB ASIO driver (with Steinberg UR22 card) Synfire throws an error saying "cannot open I/O buffers". I'm using the latest driver version (1.10.1) and it works in any other application (Cubase, Studio One) on two distinct machines here.
That said, Windows Audio seems to be working with Steinberg UR22 in Synfire. The problem is solely with the ASIO driver.
Best regards

This might not be the cause but, if you are using windows, make sure your daw and any other program that uses the sound driver is closed. Load up synfire as the only audio program and see if that works. Most sound drivers only allow 1 application to use them under windows.

Perhaps is the issue with a 32 bit driver in Synfire 64 bit ?.. i tried also the asio steinberg server driver to get working, but it seems to be not working anymore in 64 bit Synfire, while i was working correct in the 32 bit version of Synfire

Thank you for your suggestions. Yes, I run 64bit Synfire on Windows 10 and I did make sure I was launching Synfire as the only audio application. So I believe there is indeed some incompatibility between Synfire audio engine and Steinberg USB ASIO driver.
Janamdo, thanks for your confirmation, it's good to know that I'm not alone. The mentioned driver should be also 64bit and it's working correctly in the other 64bit applications so the problem is restricted to Synfire.
