Hi,
When dragging a Harmony-only library item onto the Snippets matrix (into a Harmony only column), a dialog pops up that is incomprehensible to me in terms of what I'm trying to do, which is simply to place the Harmony from the Library into the Snippet.

I've asked about this dialog before, and I find it hard to understand even when the item does have Figure content, but setting that aside for the moment the general desire to make this dialog clearer by offering some explanation in it, how about this -
Add a choice: Copy Harmony Only
It would do just what it says, and even if the other choices and their reasons are not comprehended, anyone could and would in this situation see and choose 'Copy Harmony Only' and immediately get the intended result.

My current work-around is this two-step double-drag.

Of course, if Synfire could automatically recognize the case of a drag of a Harmony-only item to a location where a Harmony parameter can live and just-do-it without further ado, that would be fine too. <g>

Are you sure these phrases really contain only a Harmony parameter?
It looks like there are more parameters in them, which is why Synfire asks for a destination instrument.

I will look into that. Thanks!
For sure, the intent was to for those phrases to be Harmony only.
If it turns out they are not, is there, or could there be, a bulk-operation on a library that would reduce it to Harmony-only status?

Pro has a cleanup feature in the folder menu

Hi.
So, regarding whether this is truly a Harmony only library (for purposes of this subject), I'm not quite sure where to look to confirm.
Here is a view in the Libary app:

Is the presence of Master Takes relevant?
Is the presence of Interpretation relevant?
Does this picture show anything else, or should I also be looking at another picture?

Regarding the cleanup, what settings are recommended to, in effect, create a Harmony-only library?

Would successfully doing so mean no longer seeing the Instrument dialog when dragging from this library into a blank snippet?

And, separately, what do you think of the suggestion for that dialog
Add a choice: Copy Harmony Only
Offhand, it seems like it would be on-point, useful in general, and probably not hard to implement.

The option Condense Harmony Phrases might work

The option Condense Harmony Phrases might work.
Might? If Cognitone doesn't know, who does? <g>
I could experiment, but without the answers to my other questions, I would have a hard time knowing if any experiment was successful or not.

That option removes Take and Interpretation from phrases that have a Harmony and no Figure. It is exactly what you are looking for.

Yup, perfect.
Dropped from library right into snippet, without further ado.
Thanks very much!
