This popped up on my facebook page and it really highlights how simple and complicated orchestral music can be. I'm sure we've all heard this piece of music many many times, but the simple animation shown in this vid was an eye (ear) openner to me. Really brought home to me the difference between chords in orchestral music and pop music.

Nice animation. It's probably a visualizer you can use for your own music, too (haven't looked it up).
Music genres vary widely. Some, like this example, rely on structure and narrative. Others thrive on less predictable harmony, timbres, and atmosphere. Still others thrive on rhythm and oomph.
