just bought the soft and notice when you're typing twice the same chord on the palette they give you a different one(inversion) how do you change this?
Thank you.

Is it possible to sync with ableton?

Some more questions :
I want to use HN2 to create music(chords progressions or using accompaniment pattern) around audio sample using ableton live.
So i first need to find the key or the tonic of the sample(?) then open the circle of fifth windows ,choose the right key for my audio sample ,open a palette then start playing chords...
How would you proceed?
Thank's for your answer.

And my last one!!!!
Once you found a chord progression you like ,is it possible to change "in real time (when looping the progression) some parameter like inversion or key... to help find different part?

Hi Stephane,
playing the same chord in the palette for a second time (repeat) resets the voice leading and hence results in the chord being played in the root position. You can achieve the same effect by hold the SHIFT key when clicking. This can not be avoided currently.
It's an interesting question whether this behavior is ideal, or not. Anyway, the VL stream needs to be reset every now and then. In a recorded progression, you can set the chord inversion per chord individually.
HN2 is designed to be a standalone tool. It does not support external synchronization.
Regarding your example, I would proceed as follows:
1. HN can't extract a melody from audio samples directly. Instead, you can record the melody of the audio sample as MIDI into a melody track in HN (the protected ones in red color). Alternatively, you can use a third-party audio-to-midi tool and import the MIDI into the track.
2. Run the Harmonizer against it and apply the final progression you found. This will save it to the Harmony parameter of your song section.
3. Pick a basis accompaniment that best suits your idea and refine individual phrases as needed.
Regarding your last question: Yes, it should be possible (I'm unable to check this in this moment) to modify the Harmony parameter while playback is running in a loop. Just try it out.
